The Suzanne’s mystery

While going through the Hôtel Jardin de l’Odéon archives, we came across some photo albums and letters belonging to a certain Suzanne.

We put them aside and actually forgot about them for a while.

Some time afterwards the Hartleys, guests staying at the hotel, asked to see the manager Madame Harrault. Mrs. Hartley said that a friend of her mother’s had lived at the Jardin de l’Odéon in the 1920s before going to live in the United States for a few years, back when the hotel was a still a hostel.

This reminded Madame Harrault of the photos and letters that had been found, and she showed them to Mrs. Hartley who recognised Suzanne Dubois and agreed to tell us the whole story. This stroke of luck has allowed us to fill in quite a lot of information about the hotel’s past.
